Description

This groundbreaking bed and breakfast from Cape May’s renaissance has retained its grandeur and signature colors over generations of beach visits and tea times. Known for its majestic rooms and golden porches, Stephen Decatur Button designed it as a gentleman’s club in 1872. Just over 100 years later, Tom and Sue Carroll opened it as the first of the historic seaside resort’s popular Bed & Breakfast Inns, and it remains among the most beloved. In 1981, Alice Steer Wilson perched on the sidewalk to paint this timeless watercolor of a Cape May landmark.

Lithograph, 13″ h x 17″ w on laid paper.
